Your host is Jonathan Driver who has been working with whisky at Diageo for 17 years. Hear about the charm of Irish whiskey through Jonathan's deep experience. MC 10 / Tomatin Room C (607) Treasured Pleasure Douglas Campbell & Polly MacDonald. We welcome Douglas Campbell, Distillery Manager of Tomatin Distillery, and Polly Macdonald, Bsc Hons, Production Manager, to Japan to explain the charms of Tomatin scotch whisky. Some of the whiskies you will taste in the Masterclass have not previously been released in Japan and have been treasured for many decades; we hope you will take great pleasure from this tasting. MC 11 / Yoichi   SOLD OUT Room D (608) Tradition and Innovation ( In Japanese ) Hisamitsu Tetsuji You can find an extraordinary malt whisky production using direct fire of coal (very rare in the world) at Yoichi Distillery, which TAKETSURU Masataka, Father of the Japanese Whisky, founded after hunting for the ideal location for Whisky production. Yoichi is obstinately inheriting the tradition, while new arrangements and experiments have been done there recently, spoken by Mr. Hisamitsu, Chief Blender of Nikka. During the course, attendants have an opportunity to taste an exceptional Yoichi Single Cask specially bottled for this Whisky Live under the authorization on SMWS. MC 12 / Isle of Arran Room E (101) From Boyz to Men Douglas Davidson. The Arran Distillery is now in its 12th year and gaining increased recognition and awards around the world. Hear from M.D. Douglas Davidson about how they plan to continue the transition from start-up to established distillery and taste some of the products lined up for later this year, including a special sherry cask sample and a Amarone (Italian red wine ) finish. In the tasting session, 2 flavored whiskies of 4 kinds of Glenrothes primal flavors and the new vintage 1991, 1985 and the brand-new rare vintage 1975 are enjoyed. An opportunity to question new Distillery Manager Stuart Robertson and Production Director Frank McHardy on all things to do with Campbeltown: their favourite whiskies, the secrets of Springbank, etc. The Masterclass includes tasting of cask samples from Springbank & Longrow and also some of the rare Hazelburn.
